In keeping with its promise to make banking more simple , convenient and available anywhere, anytime, the National Commercial Bank (NCB) brought a full service bank to the 46th Expo Jamaica, recently where the nation’s bank, and event’s premier financial institution was on display along with more than 450 local businesses. Yet, NCB’s set-up drew much attention from patrons, including several celebrities and government officials like, former Prime Minister P.J. Patterson; Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Audley Shaw, and Opposition Leader, Dr. Peter Phillips, as well as TV personality, Emprezz Golding and dancehall artiste Konshens, who made their way over to get a taste of NCB’s digital banking experience. “Expo Jamaica 2018 has definitely raised the bar and we are so happy to continue to partner with the event and development of business in Jamaica,” says Nichole Brackett Walters, Group Marketing Manager, Marketing Research, Analytics and Operations, NCB. “The support by attendees, even the nation’s key stakeholders continues to increase annually, and that is encouraging. We have been a proud sponsor of this event for more than a decade, and we have seen it grow tremendously. In keeping with our resolve to be ever innovating, we set out to make patrons experience unforgettable, cementing NCB as the bank of the future,” Brackett Walters shared. Transforming its space into a Digital Financial Home, NCB allowed patrons the opportunity to conduct major banking services, open accounts, use Intelligent Automated Banking Machines (iABM), as well as get expert investment advice and access to Dream Home and Auto Loan solutions. Additionally, patrons had the opportunity to win many prizes and receive discounts for opening an account onsite or signing up for a Lovebird KeyCard. Kelisha Samuels Davis was one such winner, who went home with a 40’ flat screen coloured TV, courtesy of NCB. But it was not just business as usual. Children and adults alike went crazy, for the bank’s Krazy Krush game, which allowed people to test their matching skills and win prizes. Other activities, such as Plinko saw patrons dropping a round chip down the side of a board with pegs for chances to win gas vouchers, Megamart gift certificates and NCB tokens. Located on “Port Royal Street” in the centre of the venue, NCB’s reach went past its bustling booth to many others as its point of sales (POS) machines made purchasing a breeze, at the Caribbean’s largest business exposition. From its inception, more than 40 years ago, Expo Jamaica continues to evolve as exhibitors become more sophisticated, with improvements in presentation, quality, quantity of goods and services. Under the theme “Advancing Breakthroughs”, the 2018 however seemed to break records, including for the first time, the Jamaica Emerging Manufacturers and Services (JEMS) Village for emerging sectors such as agro-processing, nutraceuticals, cosmetics and beauty care, aromatherapy and spa products. Advancing breakthroughs of its own through cutting-edge digitisation and innovative customer experience solutions, NCB has committed to supporting this year’s expo as well as the two to follow with a total $12 million sponsorship. Organised by the Jamaica Manufacturers Association (JMA) and the Jamaica Exporters Association (JEA), Expo Jamaica is a biennial symposium showcasing the best of local businesses, products and services.
